Posted on Apr, 16th 2012--TAG Heuer has released their latest concept timepiece and it is a work of superior time measuring, that's the tag heuer Mikrogirder 10000 released at Basel 2012. The 2012 Mikrogirder comes absent of both a hairspring and a balance
wheel. A really cool aesthetic of the Mikrogirder is the crown and push
buttons are found on the top of the case (the north position), this is
known as a “Bullhead” Chronograph.
The Mikrogirder is a chronograph beating at 7.2 million times every hour, hence, the watch can time events to 5/ 10,000th of a second. The chronograph hand is so fast, you can barely even see it with the naked eye. It is absolutely amazing to watch. Furthermore, if you listen closely, you can hear it hum ever so smoothly, as it sweeps the dial 20 times per second. The Mikrogirder itself pushes the limit of technology with an incredibly high frequency chronograph that has only 4 minutes of power reserve.
Maybe you will notice that the new Mikrogirder 10000 doesn’t measure time any more precisely than the Mikrogirder 2000. That’s right, Mikrogirder II is now referred to as having “5/ 10,000th” precision- so, “10000″ at the 12 o’clock position and “5/ 10000th Second Precision” on the dial. Of course, this means the same thing, but there are clear marketing advantages in using “10,000″. The first change is the way that the precision of the watch is represented. The watch has a “2000″ at the 12 position because TAG Heuer says they have for the first time made it possible to break apart the 1/ 10,000th fraction of time… This is pretty sexy. The second obvious change is to the case. Mikrogirder 2000 has a polished, traditional steel case- at least the bottom.
