Tag heuer have launched many top watches, such as the Monaco V4, The Calibre 360, the Pendulum- and now this watch: the Carrera Mikrograph (ref. CAR5040.FC8177),They are the top expensive watch from Tag heuer.
Here we are going to introduce the Tag heuer Carrera Mikrograph 100 watch and make a review about the Top AAA replica watch from d4l.co
The movement is the most interesting part of the watch (and the reason for its very high price-tag). It is based on a previous Tag Heuer movement called the Calibre 360 - which is clearly the parent of this Mikrograph movement. The 360 also had a chronograph that could measure 1/100th of a second, but the 1/100th hand was a subsidiary hand versus a centrally mounted one. The claim to fame here is the world's first "1/100th of a second mechanical chronograph with a centrally mounted 1/100 of a second chronograph hand." The 360 also didn't have a movement that was integrated - we'll get to that in a sec. The Mikrograph calibre is done in a polished almost gun-metal finish, and automatic movement has at least two barrels, and two escapements. It is actually more like two movements in one - but the design is integrated so that it looks like one movement. On the one hand you have the movement for the time and date. It has a standard escapement running at 28,800bph with 42 hours of power reserve. Then you have the movement just for the chronograph. Its escapement operates as a blazing 360,000bph - wow! Both of the escapements are visible through the caseback and are neat to see in action. The chronograph has its own mainspring barrel - which lasts just 90 minutes. There is a 0-100 scale on the watch dial under 12 o'clock. This is a power reserve indicator for the chronograph measured by movement power reserve fullness percentage. The movement is also COSC Chronometer certified.
While the majority of TAG Heuer’s innovations are introduced through avant-garde designs, the Carrera Mikrograph goes for a classical style- classic, yet is not a re-edition. It’s a beautiful design, with lots of great touches- for example, note the way that the brown inner-circle flattens at the top to match the shape of the Heuer shield.
The case itself is pure Carrera- a solid Rose Gold 43mm case, but one without any special design flourishes, except perhaps the crew-down chrono pusher, which is not a normal feature of the Carrera line.
The individuality of the watch is in its dial, which takes its cues from the layout of a stopwatch. Rather than being set out to show the usual twelve 5-minute intervals, the Tag heuer Carrera Mikrograph dial shows the twenty increments of 5/ 100ths that go into every second. This layout makes using the functionality of the watch infinitely easier than trying to read the small sub-dial of the Carrera 360.
The other functions on the dial are as follows:
They only make one version of the original model for this baby and it comes with a 18k rose gold case and a brown leather crocodile skin bracelet. Did not find a fake Tag Carrera Mikrograph 100 with a rose gold case just yer so I went for the next best thing and got this on stainless steel. Clean dial matching the original, the only small differences are the 3 o’clock small chronograph which is marked differently and the date background which should be black.
It’s easier to see this way though as black on white rather than white on black but you cannot argue with the Tag designers because they do create some exquisite designs specially when it comes to their high end watches. Yes, high end watches because this baby will cost you over 50k for the genuine piece so please remember that number.
Hands are in tone with the stainless steel case and the other dial markings are all properly cloned. Crown and side buttons also match the originals so overall we’re looking at a good clone here. It’s powered by a Japanese Quartz (battery run) movement that makes the seconds hand tick so if that’s a no-no for you then don’t go for it. 6 o’clock chronograph is a small seconds hand and the 9 o’clock is a stopwatch.
Brown leather strap is of good quality and it closes with the classic Tag Carrera folding clasp. It’s double sided leather so it’ll keep a good shape in time and not wear off quickly. Solid back case has Mikrograph engravings so overall I’m pretty happy with the looks and feel of this piece specially because they’re not that easy to find and then you have the quality issue which for these more rare models it’s always a challenge.
